Welcome to ModernKid.com. All of the products on our website are quoted in Canadian dollars and are available for shipping worldwide. We are excited about our products and wish for you to have a pleasant shopping experience. Please review our terms and conditions that apply to our online catalogue as well as in-store purchases. By using our online store you expressly agree to the information set forth below.

Log In Account
When in our store or on the website, you will be asked if you would like to create an account using your name, address, phone number and email. Once this information is in our database, the system will generate a user name and a password which will be emailed to you directly. This information will allow you to shop online and access your account information to facilitate a quick checkout. We may also use your information to send you news of upcoming ModernKid sales, product launches or contests. ModernKid may share your information with an outside shipping company such as Fedex or Canada Post to send your purchases. However, we do not share our customers’ information with any other outside entities.

Catalogue
ModernKid will ensure that its catalogue is maintained and out of stock items are promptly displayed. We apologize if your purchase is out of stock and will contact you via email should this error occur. At that point, you have the option to wait for a new shipment, make a substitution or cancel your pending order.

ModernKid’s website may contain errors in descriptions of products, dimensions and/or pricing. We reserve the right to correct any of these inaccuracies and update our information without prior notice, including changes to your current or standing order.

Security of Credit Card Information
ModernKid uses an industry standard SSL encryption for all credit card transactions at checkout. Our site uses Verified by Visa system as it allows for additional security to protect our customers. For those customers wishing to use a different form of payment we also offer a Paypal interface to allow for you to complete your web order. We accept Visa, Mastercard and Paypal.

Standard Shipping
ModernKid uses various carriers for all our shipping needs. Shipping fees are automatically calculated at check out and will be added to your total invoice. All of our products will be shipped out within 3–5 business days unless there is a lead time noted for a special order item. For all US and International shipping customers, we cannot guarantee the amount of time your product may take to arrive at your destination. Each delivery will vary due to border inspections and other delays that are beyond our control.

Oversize Shipping
Certain items in our catalogue are considered oversize and require special shipping and handling. All oversize items are marked as such within their individual product page with additional freight charges that will apply. We understand that some customers may be able to pickup their own pieces at our retail location, therefore we have included an option for a free pickup.

Special Orders
There are a number of items within our catalogue that we special order to your specifications. Each special order is therefore unique and is ordered specifically to suit your needs. Therefore, special order items cannot be returned or exchanged and are FINAL SALE. These orders include all upholstered items, all furniture, select bedding, Flor and Fatboys.

Delivery
Once your order has been shipped, your online account will be updated with a tracking number and the carrier being used. Your delivery can be monitored online for an estimated delivery timeframe.

ModernKid utilizes a third party carrier for all standard and oversize deliveries. These companies will deliver all of your purchases to your door or curbside. For insurance reasons, the delivery person cannot provide any additional help with inside delivery, assembly of your furniture or cardboard recycling. Unfortunately, white glove service is not available at this time.

Damaged Items & Shipments
Please contact ModernKid immediately if your shipment arrives damaged so that we can process a claim with the carrier immediately. We will require pictures of the damage to the item, outside packaging and label pictures within 2 days in order to process ANY claim. Please ensure you inspect your shipment and make notes of any visible damage to the driver. Should your item be imperfect due to manufacturing processes we will work with the supplier to correct any issues on individual customer basis.

Price Matching
At ModernKid, we are committed to offering exceptional products at reasonable prices. If you find one of our products at another Canadian retailer for a lower price, please feel free to contact us and we will do our best to match that price. Please note, certain items cannot be price matched due to manufacturer contract restrictions. In all other cases, we will do our best to match prices, however we do reserve the right to not price match at our discretion.

Returns and Exchanges
ModernKid wants you to be happy with your purchase. Therefore, we offer 100% satisfaction guarantee. Upon receipt of your item, if you are not satisfied simply return it within 10 days of obtaining the reference number (see below) in its original condition and packaging for a full refund to your credit card. You will be refunded the cost of the product only, not the original shipping. Additionally, all shipping to return the product is at the purchasers’ expense. Please note all special orders and sale items are FINAL SALE. There are certain items in our catalogue that cannot be returned for sanitary reasons. These items include all cutlery, plates, cups, bowls, and bedding. These are FINAL SALE. Please contact our store toll free at 1 888 662 3181 to request a refund authorization number. Our sales representative will take down all of your information and assign you a reference number. You may at this point send your purchase back to 45 Water Street, Vancouver British Columbia V6B 1A1 Canada quoting your return reference number. We reserve the right to refuse a refund if the merchandise is not in its original condition. ModernKid will not accept any COD shipping of returns.
